Not many local businesses can say they’ve been around since the creation of Collier County, but one local law firm has the bragging rights that its founder helped create Florida’s 62nd county almost a century ago.
On a balmy spring day in 1923, Fort Myers attorney Robert A. Henderson Jr. and his client, advertising tycoon Barron Collier, celebrated as Gov. Cary A. Hardee signed legislation that established Collier County. The county then developed the legislation further.
Fast forward 96 years, and Henderson’s office, now known as Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, is recognized as one of the area’s largest law firms.
