Hundreds of students explore construction career at Lee County ‘Build My Future’

by The 100 Companies

After a temporary break due to COVID-19 and Hurricane Ian, organizers were excited to welcome students back for the 3rd Annual Build My Future career trade show.

Students from the School District of Lee County’s traditional and Lee Virtual were invited to learn more about the construction industry and different career paths. Members of the Lee Building Industry Association organized hands-on activities so that students could experience drilling, painting, moving machinery and fixing HVAC systems.

Through this event, organizers hope to inspire more young adults to pursue careers in construction. Proceeds from the event support construction curriculum in Lee Schools.
