Local teen launches apparel company

As an award-winning junior equestrian, 13-year-old Juliette Douros Hawk saw an opportunity to improve accessories used for competition. With an entrepreneurial spirit, she set out to create a new line of saddle pads, riding socks, hair nets and even leather tack using only sustainable materials.

EQ PRO was launched as an accessory line, which is now sold in stores throughout the U.S. But, Douros Hawk didn’t stop there; she’s partnered with the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) to create a scholarship fund, which will provide financial assistance to current and new equestrians as they learn to compete locally and nationally.
