Sometimes the best reminders come at unexpected times, like 8 a.m. on Sunday at a Tremaine national dance convention.
In leading a hundred or so teens through the first class of the convention, Derrick Schrader reminded the aspiring dancers of their presence.
He encouraged them to think about how they show up on the dance floor and life, offering the choice to contribute to building the positive energy in the room or disrupting it by focusing only on themselves.
It resonated with me as a reminder of the impact we have on those around us, just by being present.
