Inspired by President George W. Bush’s “Portraits of Courage,” CSN students have published a new book, “Through Their Eyes: The Community School of Naples Veterans Project.”
Students were paired with local veterans, whom they painted portraits of and interviewed about their service. In all, 101 veterans are portrayed, including a few veteran stories shared by Gold Star parents.
Dr. David Watson, CSN head of school, said, “a beautiful tribute like this provides a powerful teaching moment for our students, whose freedoms they enjoy today are due in no small part to the heroism and selflessness of those whom they honor.”
