Are you an influencer?

by

Take the time to develop conversation starters and key messages about your career and goals to position yourself as an influencer in the community.

When walking into a networking event, have a couple of fun signature questions like “What is the best thing that happened to you this week?” Fun questions show interest and can open the door to unexpected connections because the other person’s passions will shine through.

Avoid close-ended responses like “yes” or “no” that end conversations. Instead, add value by having a few short stories ready to share about recent accomplishments with work or community projects.
