As a member of the Recycle Florida Today board, it was a pleasure hosting a panel about sustainable partnerships at our annual conference.
With more than 100 city, county and industry leaders in attendance, we spent the conference sharing research, programs and best practices to identify opportunities to capture recyclables and improve the overall industry.
We were reminded that recycling is only one part of the green stream, and we must look for innovative ways to reuse. For example, Goodwill of Manasota coordinates a donation event after colleges break for the summer, collecting clothing and furniture that would get discarded.
