Applying fertilizer can help your lawn grow strong, but can be dangerous to our waterways if not applied correctly. Southwest Florida municipalities have enacted fertilizer ordinances that run through Sept. 30.

Review your local fertilizer ordinance:

• Collier County

• City of Naples

• Marco Island

• Lee County

• Bonita Springs

• Town of Fort Myers Beach

• Cape Coral

• Charlotte County

• City of North Port

• City of Punta Gorda

Depending on your location, prevalent species of grass and desired level of maintenance, there are different recommendations for fertilizing your lawn.
