Protect SWFL children stopping for school buses

by The 100 Companies

Across the state, there were nearly 3,000 crashes involving school buses in 2022, according to the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. That number includes 206 accidents in Lee County, 61 accidents in Collier County and 15 in Charlotte County.

You can help prevent crashes by remaining alert, minding reduced speeds in school zones and stopping when approaching a school bus that is stopped with its red lights flashing.

Parents should also remind their students to wait for their bus in a safe place and to never sit on the roadway or curb.
