First temporary ‘Blue Roof’ installed in Fort Myers

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractors in Fort Myers installed the first temporary “Blue Roof” in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.

“This storm was devastating,“ said Fort Myers resident Barbara Powell-Wring. “I’ve been through three storms, and this one was the worst I’ve ever [seen]. I want to thank everyone that was involved in helping me today, I thank God for you all.”

When Hurricane Ian hit, Powell-Wring  wasn’t sure her home had a roof anymore, as she could hear the heavy winds pounding as if the roof tore off.

why did it take so long for them to begin responding? I have friends that tried to use Blue Roof and got a response that it would be weeks if not months. Yet, independent companies have been tapping since the day after the storm. Two weeks ago…..
