Keep Collier Beautiful just released the full report from the annual Bay Days – Great American Cleanup event last month, which brought together 514 people to collect litter and debris at 10 site locations covering Collier County beaches and waterways.
The event showed outstanding results, with over 1,542 total service hours spent by volunteers, students, organizations and businesses. Two hundred seventy-four trash bags were filled up with litter and debris, with an estimated total weight of 1,300 pounds.
Some of the most unusual items collected included boat parts, pool filters, batteries and cables.
