You’re probably a ‘set-jetter’ and don’t even know it

We learned a new travel term recently – set-jetting. That’s the act of traveling to a destination that has captivated you onscreen, whether it was a TV show, movie or social media post.

In its recently released 2023 Global Travel Trends Report, American Express reported on the rise of set-jetting with Gen X, Gen Z and millennials, with 75 percent of respondents reporting they have been inspired by social media to travel to a specific destination.

Recommendations from family and friends are still the deciding factor for 47 percent, but TV shows or movies, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook are gaining influence.
