Elite basketball a source of pride for FGCU women

There is a lot of buzz around March Madness. While many of your friends and coworkers have probably filled out brackets for the men’s tournament, there is less chatter and cheering for the women training hard to earn a title.

Most women’s programs share the goals of positive empowerment and development of elite athletes. However, women’s basketball is still fighting for the same respect that the men’s game receives.

FGCU also supports female student-athletes through Wings Up Women, a scholarship fund with allowances for all women’s teams. The fund is empowering young women to be the leaders of tomorrow.
