You might have missed World Teachers Day (Oct. 5) in Southwest Florida, thanks to Hurricane Ian. According to the National Education Association, teachers are paid about 80 cents on the dollar compared to other professions with similar experience – and we all know that teachers spend a lot of their own money on school supplies.
Stats from AdoptAClassroom.org say it’s as much as $750 a year.
Educators long for access to better technology like tablets and smart boards. Early exposure can prepare students for their future careers and also those with special needs.
