It was a double celebration of cultures last week at Hodges University. We hosted Holidays at Hodges for our English as a Second Language (ESL) students. They shared dishes from their countries at lunchtime and again that evening. There was a photo booth, an appearance from Santa, music, dancing and, did I mention incredible food?
Our students practiced their spoken English by introducing themselves and describing the dishes they each made. Before leaving the celebration, many took the time to make ornaments representing their country. Those ornaments now hang on a lighted tree in our library.
