Sally J. Pimentel Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center will offer no-cost weekly ASL and deaf culture instruction for families with deaf or hard of hearing children.
“Three out of every four parents who have a deaf child do not learn sign language and have very little communication at home,” said Alicia Miller, executive director of the center. “Our goal is to help families bridge this gap by instilling the skills they need to communicate effectively.”
Families are invited to the classes every Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The sessions will give family members time to learn and practice together.
