DLC opioid addiction recovery

Individuals addicted to opioids in the Collier County jail will have new treatment options to help reduce withdrawal symptoms, improve functioning and increase successful outcomes thanks to a federal grant.

Collier County partnered with David Lawrence Centers, Collier Sheriff’s Office and Armor Correctional Health Services to implement Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for inmates.

MAT combines medication and treatment. It can protect public safety by helping reduce, eliminate or prevent the use of illicit drugs, criminal activity and the spread of infectious disease. MAT can improve survival rates, increase retention in treatment and improve the quality of life of those receiving care.
