You may have heard that all bourbon is whiskey, but have you tasted what happens when the American classic meets an oak barrel from Portugal?
Specialty bourbons like Angel’s Envy are known as port-cask-finished bourbons, and after spending up to six years in traditional barrels, the golden liquid is then transferred to French oak barrels and “finished” for another six months.
These finishing barrels, imported from Portugal, contain the essence of the ruby port wine they once held, producing a smooth and slightly dry finish to the sweet bourbon. Find Angel’s Envy at your local Total Wine store.
