$30,000 contributed to physician wellness program

The Physician Wellness Program was launched to address the growing concern of physician burnout. Locally, it has been critical to providing an outlet for physician members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Collier County Medical Society Physician Wellness Program offers confidential, cost-free access to professional psychological services for all Medical Society physician members. Since the program’s inception in February 2017, it has provided support to hundreds of physicians coping with traumatic events, difficulties with the healthcare system and work/life issues.

In total, $30,000 was contributed by partners the Southwest Florida Physicians Association and NCH Healthcare System. Funds help sustain the health and well-being of community physicians, which in turn helps them care for their patients and can increase the number of physicians practicing in Southwest Florida.
