Aug. 18 commemorates the ratification of the 19th Amendment which ensures that women have the right to vote.
There is a rich history of women administering elections in Collier County. The first “Supervisor of Elections” was Edna Cribb Santa who served until 1981. Supervisor Mary Morgan took office after Santa’s retirement and then Jennifer J. Edwards was appointed in 2000 after Morgan’s retirement.
I was proud to accept the appointment from Gov. DeSantis to serve as Collier County’s fourth Supervisor of Elections following Supervisor Edwards’ retirement. I look forward to carrying on the legacy these women led in our election administration.
