While cleanup and recovery efforts are underway, it is important to remember that hurricane season is not yet over. Southwest Florida residents should keep their sandbags stacked and out of the sun for potential future use.
In a recent notice from the City of Naples, residents were reminded that sandbags SHOULD NOT be dumped on the beach. However, clean sand that is free of any debris can be returned to the beach without permit according to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).
