Electric vehicles and salt water do not mix

by The 100 Companies

As of 2023, there are an estimated 238,500 electric vehicles (EV) on the road in Florida. While they may be better for the environment, it’s critically important for residents to be aware of the risks they pose during a storm surge.

Our friends at Divine Naples shared footage of an EV fire in downtown Naples. There are additional news reports of families losing homes because of similar fires.

I’m not advocating going back to gas, but it is essential to create a hurricane plan that includes contingencies for risks like an EV. Take the car with you to higher ground.
