Help protect ‘somebunny’ special

Spring is here, and so are the baby animals. The Conservancy of Southwest Florida has received several dozen baby birds, bunnies, raccoons and squirrels recently. Most of the babies they receive are from disturbed or fallen nests.

Here are a few ways you can protect wildlife on your property:

• Baby animals are helpless and vulnerable to roaming pets. Just be mindful to reduce this potential risk.

• Before trimming trees or gardening, check for active nests. Any disturbance to a nest could be dangerous.

• Don’t try to take care of the animals yourself. Call the Conservancy, and they can help you.
