With Hurricane Debby behind us, now is the time to make sure your home is prepared for the rest of hurricane season.
Go through your home, yard and garage looking for any household hazardous waste. Clear any items that could pose a danger to you or your neighbors in hurricane-force winds – such as old lumber, broken lawn furniture, etc. – and dispose of them correctly.
Have your foliage thinned so the wind can flow freely through branches, decreasing the chance that trees or plants will be uprooted. Then, place the trimmings at the curb on your regular yard waste collection day.
