Make a difference to our local waterways while having fun!
Saturday, Sept. 18, the International Coastal Cleanup is happening in Collier, Lee and Charlotte counties. And beaches on the Gulf of Mexico aren’t the only place to participate, as canals and bays also need to be free of trash.
Volunteers from states and territories throughout the U.S. and more than 100 countries come together each year and participate in a clean-up event near them.
Since the International Coastal Cleanup event began 35 years ago, more than 16 million volunteers have collected more than 340 million pounds of trash.
