Inspired by winning top pottery awards at his Minnesota high school, Tim Smith devotes time to his studio practice as a production potter, sculptor and painter while also teaching for art institutions throughout SWFL. He believes that if you can dream it, you can achieve it.
In 2019, Smith opened Sanibel Pottery Studio School to share expertise with people of all ages, while continuing to teach at Cypress Lake High School’s Center for the Arts.
Smith earned his degree from The Art Institute of Chicago in 1983. He has received numerous fellowships and grants, one from Robert Rauschenberg, a major influence.
