September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness on this stigmatized and taboo topic. We want to shift public perception, spread hope and share resources.
Mental health concerns are common and on the rise. It is up to us all to learn how to help those around us. Knowing warning signs, how to discuss suicide and helpful steps to take can prevent suicide. Compassion, empathy and kindness are life-changing to those struggling with their mental health.
As a community, we must come together for our families, friends and neighbors. Suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problems.
