Make some noise for pan-banging cookies

Does your favorite cookie recipe go like this: mix batter, spoon batter onto greased cookie sheet, bake and eat?

A twist on the traditional homemade cookie called “pan banging” is all over the internet. Basically, it involves interrupting the cooking time in the oven, removing the pan and then dropping it on a flat surface so the half-baked dough falls flat.

Once the cookies are returned to the oven to finish baking, a big, round, crinkled circle of crispy, chocolate chip heaven awaits you. Internet blogger and baker Sarah Kieffer is credited with creating pan-banging cookies and delicious recipes.
