Keep Collier Beautiful is proud to have led the 38th Annual International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 16. It took more than 3,000 volunteer-service hours to organize this community-wide cleanup effort.

Volunteers collected litter and debris from 17 locations, including sites like Barefoot Beach, Clam Pass, Rookery Bay NERR, Lake Trafford, Vanderbilt Beach, Delnor-Wiggins Park and more. In addition to plastic and glass bottles, cigarette butts and expected debris, volunteers found planks of wood, construction materials and barnacle-covered chairs that may have been remnants of Hurricane Ian continuing to wash ashore.
