Born in Cuba, Yovannis Roque began studying double bass at 10 years old, at the Luis Casas Romero vocational art school. Roque specializes in the composition of jazz and instrumental music.
He has been featured in over 100 albums, including the Grammy-nominated album “Amistad 404” by Paquito D’Rivera and has toured and recorded with some of the most important names in the industry. Throughout his career, Roque has engaged thousands of people in his unique jazz style.
After his daughter was born in 2016, Roque quit touring but continues as a solo artist and music director for Naples Dance Conservatory.
