Being a physician can be challenging. And, it is not surprising that some physicians may undergo burnout, depression or suicidal thoughts.
In honor of the National Physician Suicide Awareness Day, Collier County Medical Society shared suicide prevention resources and encouraged its members to use the CCMS Physician Wellness Program, which offers six free sessions of psycological intervention each year, per member.
The numbers are alarming. In a recent study, around six out of 10 physicians feel inappropriate feelings of negative emotions and nearly half withdraw from social bonds.
CCMS helps by giving physicians access to the help they need, too.
