Many soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice so that we, as Americans, can enjoy our many freedoms. Memorial Day is a day of remembrance. Our brave men and women pledged to defend this great country and gave their lives here and abroad to help ensure that the foundations upon which this country is built remain steadfast and strong.
This tradition of honoring those who died while serving began in 1868 when General John Logan issued a “Decoration Day” proclamation in May. Today, we know this day as Memorial Day.
Please take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
