More commonly known as the “one cent” tax, the infrastructure sales tax referendum included $15,000,000 for hurricane hardening of County facilities. As the accountant and custodian of county funds, I wanted to share how your tax dollars were allocated to resources that helped our community maintain and restore services after the storm.
Among the validated projects was the installation of emergency generator power at 32 critical wastewater pump stations, including 18 portable generator sets that were deployed during Hurricane Ian.
Additionally, emergency generators were installed at the North County Regional Park and the Immokalee Sports Complex.
