Travel light: Ship your luggage for less than a baggage fee

I discovered a “new” way to ship my suitcase to my front door — for little cost. After  a business meeting in Pittsburgh, I was flying to Charlotte to visit my children. I didn’t need my large suitcase with business clothes and items.

Several online services will pick up suitcases at your hotel, but I went to a FedEx store, I shipped luggage home for half to a third the price of the other services and took Lyft to the airport and boarded the flight with only a weekend backpack.

The price to ship to Atlanta? $17, arriving before I did.
