St. Patrick’s Day is a fun and festive occasion. A day where many gather with friends, drink green beer and wear shamrocks. Drinking responsibly or not at all is just as important as having fun.
If you plan to drink, don’t overindulge. To make sure you drink safely, know your limits, eat Irish-themed food and drink water between drinks — and have a designated driver. For those in recovery, the festive atmosphere may be a trigger.
To ensure you stay sober, tap into your recovery support system, host your own sober gathering and take an inventory of why you got clean.
