Over the past few years, we’ve all being swearing … a lot.

Use of the most common curse words on social media went up 41 percent from 2019-2021. And new research indicates that may not a bad thing. In fact Harvard Professor Arthur C. Brooks says it may make us happier and more productive, especially at work when we need to blow off steam.

But Brooks suggests we ration our curses. “If you choose to drop F-bombs, treat them like a bowl of ice cream: Savor them once or twice a week, not all day long, and don’t go in for seconds.”
