DNA testing has come a long way, revolutionizing animal care and research. 

Koa is a perfect example of why we conduct DNA testing on all of the animals at Shy Wolf. He looks like your regular American Pit Bull Terrier, except taller. By looking at him, you wouldn’t have guessed he was a wolfdog, but DNA tests confirmed that he is 21% wolf.

With the available information that we had through Koa’s genetic screening, we were able to provide the best care and prepare his adopters for any future medical issues they may need to watch for.
