For the past five years, Spencer Manix has been a Waste Management super fan. When Spencer was still in diapers, he would run into the yard to wave at Rodolfo Lorenzo. When Rodolfo noticed, he would wave back with the truck’s collection claw.
As their friendship grew, Spencer started bringing Rodolfo Gatorade, popsicles and snacks. If the family wasn’t home when Rodolfo serviced their house, Spencer’s parents would drive around the neighborhood to deliver a popsicle and a big thumbs up.
Now that Spencer is in school, Rodolfo takes his Saturday lunch break to catch up with his little friend.
