If you have not already filed your 2019 tax return, the extended July 15 deadline is approaching.
The United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee counties has resumed its tax assistance program for residents who earned less than $66,000 in 2019. Clients must make an appointment to drop off their tax papers, such as W-2s and 1099s. The tax return will be prepared by IRS-certified volunteers and ready for pickup the following week. Families who have access to the internet can file their own tax returns through a secure website.
