The FTC is going RoboCop on Robocalls

We’ve all experienced it – the “Your car warranty has expired” call. The amount of unknown calls/texts is soaring, and opening the door to cybercrime, fraud and identity theft.

New research claims over 11 billion spam texts (about 42 per person) were sent in the U.S. last month and the FCC is working with cell companies to make them stop.

In fact FCC Chair Jessica Rosenwood has initiated a proposal that would require providers to block unwanted texts. Americans lost $131 million last year to fraud schemes because of these illegal texts. We’ve got some tips on how to combat robocalls.
