The Florida National Guard (FLNG) wasted no time in mobilizing over 5,000 personnel to provide relief and rescue missions in areas hit by Hurricane Ian. The FLNG immediately conducted initial assessments in Florida and provided support to the State Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee, the State Logistics Response Center in Orlando and county Emergency Operations Centers.
Equipped with high-wheeled vehicles, helicopters, boats, generators, and more, FLNG has been conducting search and rescue operations, providing essential services, assisting in distribution sites, managing the provision of necessities such as food and water and performing route clearance operations to enable damaged infrastructure reconstruction.
