#StandUp to anxiety with mindfulness

Have you ever suddenly started sweating, trembling and losing your breath? You might have felt nausea, numbness or chills. It could have been a panic attack brought on by anxiety.

Anxiety is the most common mental illness. Untreated children with anxiety are at higher risk to perform poorly in school, miss out on social experiences and use drugs.

David Lawrence Center’s #StandUp campaign encourages us to talk about the common challenges children struggle with and how to treat them.

One strategy you can practice at home is mindfulness. Mindfulness allows us to interrupt reflexive reactions that can lead to anxiety.
