Are graduates walking off the stage and straight into your office? Done right, internships can be mutually beneficial. Experienced intern supervisors suggest you discuss any paperwork required on the first day and recommend writing recommendations or evaluations promptly after the internship.
Set aside a consistent time each week to check in with your intern to keep clear communication about their work. Help interns network by introducing them around the office and include them in a variety of experiences.
Finally, formally acknowledge their work whenever possible by giving credit on presentations or reports.
