Sharing is not caring when it comes to your Netflix password

by The 100 Companies

What? You haven’t seen the binge-worthy series “Wednesday” on Netflix? Well, here’s my password.

More than 100 million households are sharing passwords and Netflix is going to start cracking down by the end of March. That’s an about-face from six years ago when the streaming service tweeted, “Love is sharing a password.”

Greg Peters, co-CEO of Netflix says, “We’ll see a bit of a cancel reaction to that.”

The company plans to deploy a technological nag: a prompt that asks users to “verify” some devices via authentication codes. So devices connected to your account outside your household may be blocked.
