Robert Gwaltney brings a rich Southern history in PRosé

by The 100 Companies

It’s music, magic realism and a lot of the Southern history for Robert Gwaltney in his novel “The Cicada Tree,” which is predicted to become a cult classic.

Set in the 1950s in the fictitious town of Providence, the novel follows the coming-of-age story of the main character Analeise, a piano-playing prodigy. For Gwaltney, his book is a love letter to all of the Southern women he knew.

Catch him in-person on March 24 at NeverMore Books with award-winning Southern novelist Bren Mclain. The interview will be live-streamed on the Pat Conroy Center Facebook page.
