Port Charlotte Florist is known for its unique floral designs and has evolved from the “mom-and-pop” shop that it was when it was first opened in 1979, by Robert and Diane Gill.
The Gill’s intentions were to retire; however, Robert purchased the shop, and it became very successful. He opened another location across the harbor the next year.
Today, the shop has one location, on U.S. 41 near Toledo Blade Boulevard. It’s over 7,000 square feet and caters to the entire community. Robert and Diane’s children, Dennis Gill and Donna Cardenas, are carrying Port Charlotte Florist into its second generation.
