Members of the American Beverage Association are ensuring that 100% of every plastic beverage bottle is recyclable. When properly recycled, bottles can be remade into new plastic bottles or other products like shirts, coats, park benches and playground equipment.
Beyond saving millions of pounds of raw materials through lightweighting and package reduction, manufacturers have pledged more positive change by 2025:
• Keurig Dr Pepper will have 100% recyclable or compostable packaging and use 30% post-consumer recycled content.
• PepsiCo will make 100% of packaging recyclable, compostable or biodegradable.
• Coca-Cola’s PlantBottle has already prevented 150,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
