Hundreds of the world’s top pickleball players will descend upon Punta Gorda this month to compete for thousands in prize winnings at the Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP) tournament.
Set for Feb. 23-27, the APP Punta Gorda $40k is part of the first sanctioned USA Pickleball tour for both professionals and amateurs in America and Europe.
“The tournament created an economic impact of over $1 million locally with top professional athletes traveling as far away as Afghanistan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan and Zimbabwe,” said Sean Walter, Business Development Director of Sports for the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau.
