Looking to get out on the water this holiday weekend?

We asked members of the Marine Industries Association of Collier County (MIACC) where the best place to fish, boat and soak in the sun would be.

Russell Burland and Christopher Burkhard agreed: The fish are plentiful at the Foote Family Reef.

Located 17 miles offshore, the Foote Family Reef was the second of six legacy artificial reefs deployed in 2015 as part of the Paradise Coast Artificial Reef Project.

If you don’t have time for an offshore excursion, the local favorite is Keewaydin Island. It is the perfect place to fish, look for sea shells and relax during a sunset.
