New round of telephone scams emerging in Southwest Florida

by The 100 Companies

We recently received a report of a new round of telephone scams, this time stating the sheriff’s office has a warrant out for the victim’s arrest for failing to appear for jury duty.

The scammers are then requesting payment to avoid executing the arrest warrant.

Additionally, the scammers are threatening victims with more jail time if they break a false “gag order” and discuss the incident with anyone.

We are reminding everyone to immediately hang up the phone if they receive suspicious calls like this and immediately report to the Collier County Sheriff’s Call Before You “Pay” hotline: (239) 252-CALL (2255).
